Shogun Studios operates on traditional lands of Australia
⇣
Hello.
I'm Trevor Bryan Cotton and I established Shogun Studios in 2005 as a multimedia production business. Actually, my history in the arts goes back another two decades.
I offer a skill-set to rival many practitioners in the performative arts industry. Please investigate the ☰ menu at the top left of this home page for the range of services I provide.
Music is my first love, writing and playing since the 1980s. With thousands of performances and many dozens of released recordings, I'm well seasoned.
A thirst for knowledge and experience led me to audio in the '90s. Record and music video production soon followed. I am a Bachelor of Audio.
And with a Master of Producing from Victorian College of the Arts, I'm deep into development of narrative and documentary works.
All the while, I've evolved as a baker, chef, barman and promoter, having managed several hospitality venues during a parallel three-decade career.
Sometimes my work is serious and crusading, at other times it's irreverent and celebratory. Collaboration and community are at its core.
Let's work together!
Production in Focus
A Beatles 50th Anniversary Rooftop Tribute
One of the studio's crowning achievements, this 5-track concert was filmed in 2019 on a North Melbourne rooftop, as a 50th anniversary tribute to the Beatles' final live performance.
I could have asked any of several dozen top-notch musicians to participate, though the top 5 on my list all obliged.
To have Davey Lane, Ross McLennan, Timothy Nelson, Ashley Naylor and Brett Wolfenden onboard was a dream come true.
The result speaks volumes, with performances displaying great skill and deep affection for the source material.
Among the many, many tributes filmed around the world for this anniversary, you'll be hard pressed to find one that comes close to the calibre of ours.
